4 Must Dive Sites in Dominica

Dominica is diver’s paradise. Its beautiful underwater topography contains a wealth of sites with healthy reefs, bright colors and a myriad of macro life. With its volcanic structure and its location at the confluence of the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, Dominica offers divers walls, pinnacles, swim-through caves and a wide variety of marine life attracted by the nutrients the currents stir up. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more appealing destination.

While many divers are prone to explore the south western shores of Dominica, the north western end offers a magnificent variety of unspoiled underwater beauty. Here are four must dive sites located in the pristine waters of the north western shores of Dominica.

1. Shark's Mouth

Shark's Mouth is the southernmost of the Cabrits sites but you most likely won't find sharks.

Named for the huge barrel sponges that look like shark’s mouths! A delightful mixture of soft and hard corals & many brightly colored sponges which covers the sharply descending slope.

Named for a huge boulder that tumbled down the mountainside 1000s of years ago & now has a hand like formation. Like an iceberg, you can see the top of the rock breaking the surface, but that is only 9/10ths of what lies under the sea. This is a great spot for spotted eagle ray sightings.
